Sunday 24th
Our last day in Melbourne.
We decided to check out South Melbourne Market which we were told was a smaller market than the Vic but good for food and getting a few bits. We got the train and then the tram over and had a quick look around. The food stalls around the edges were really busy with some interesting looking food like paella and bureki but inside there wasn't that much there. The main market had a mix of fruit and veg stalls, a deli section, fish and meat and then a food area. There were some interesting stalls selling bread and cheese but we didn't stay long and decided we would rather go back to the Victoria Market instead before it shut at 4.
At the Victoria Market we had a wander round, all the veg was going cheap with vendors trying to get rid of the remains of the day. Thomas got a hot dog and I bought a sourdough half baguette and a brownie that was delicious!!
When the market closed at 4 we headed down to the Seal Life centre near Flinders Train Station and had a good few hours wandering round the exhibits!
My favourites were the turtles, lizards, jellyfish and the king penguins who looked super warm in their brown fluffy coats!!
We knew we had to spend the evening packing before heading off for Sydney in the morning so we had an early night and finished off some left overs at the house before packing and watching the final episode of The Honourable Woman!!
We have really enjoyed our time in Melbourne would love to come back when the weather gets a bit nicer but it's a lovely city with a great atmosphere and a lot going on!
Can't wait to come back!!
