Adelaide Farmers Market and Adelaide CBD

Sunday 10th

Today we left a bit earlier than normal (10am) and went for a wander down to the train station and got the train to Adelaide Showgound to the Adelaide Farmers Market. The market is held every sunday and is really popular, you can get fresh produce, everything from meat and bread through to herbs and honey. It was quite cold so I got a hot chocolate from an organic van and an organic choc chip cookie that was absolutely amazing- the woman said she makes them and got everything down to the organic butter from this market.
For breakfast I got a rum and raisin escargot and Thomas had a BLT (no mayonnaise but salad dressing!) we also bought a pizza slice to have for lunch.
Everything looked so delicious especially the bread. The market closes at 2 so we headed off on foot into town. We came out into the CBD at South Terrace, had a detour at the edge of Peacock Street and wandered around looking at the park and found a Community Garden that grows lettuce, runner beans and loads of herbs, was a lovely space and had a lovely atmosphere especially with all the colourful birds chasing each other around!
As we wandered into the CBD we stumbled across another market called The Market Shed, it was a great discovery that is right next to a parking lot that they had spilled into and the main market was a big warehouse space that was really well set out and decorated! I loved this space and it was such a great place to wander round with organic stores and artisan produce.
We carried on and found The Bowery, a really nice supermarket/deli/cafe that had really good produce and a great atmosphere, we got some juice and had a wander round.
Further up we turned off at Hutt Street and found Good Life Pizza which makes organic pizza and has a few seasonal dishes, made a note to come back for dinner one night.
Hutt Street took us up to Rundle Road and we came across Ebenezer Place which was my favourite place in the city! All the nice little boutique stores were down here but unfortunatlet cos it was Sunday we would have to wait till next week to explore!
Later on we came across Palace Cinema and we went to see A Most Wanted Man which was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed- Philip Seymour Hoffman was fantastic in it!
