Wednesday 13th
Today we got the train to Belair, we had to change at Goodwood and get the train up into the foothills to the end of the line- Belair. It was a lovely train journey with amazing view of the city and the valleys up in the hills surrounding Adelaide. It was crazy considering how flat Adelaide is to suddenly be taken so high up just a short train ride out of the city. Belair was a nice town, not much going on on the day we arrived but we went and got some chocolate and crisps from a shop for our walk. We had planned on going to Brownhill Creek Reserve which was in our guide book but we couldn't find it very well from our map even though we were supposedly right next to it so we ended up walking a bit down the hill and came out at another reserve park called Randall Park which was beautiful and after a short hike up a steep hill we got an amazing view of Adelaide which covered the whole city. It was a lovely spot and the sun was shining making it a perfect spot! I loved it up there and it was great to see the planes taking off and coming in to land to and from Adelaide airport.
We had a wander through the reserve back into the towns below passing a cemetery with a lovely view of the city and then happened upon the train at Torrens Park and got it back into the city getting off near Hyde Park to find some stops in the guide book. Unfortunately Prescence had moved to the city and the sweet shop was misleading on the map (actually located in Glenelg) so we just had a wander- it was pretty non the less and we enjoyed the wander before getting the bus back into the city to head home before leaving again for dinner.
We had decided to go back to Good Life Pizza, after a choice between that and Etica (Thomas preferred the menu at GLP so we opted for there). The restaurant did not disappoint- I was in heaven!! The restaurant itself was small and basic but beautiful in its layout, lighting and decor- they had a lovely outside courtyard with fairy lights that would be beautiful in the summer! We had garlic bread to start then margarita pizza for me, hawaiian for Thomas and roasted seasonal vegetables done with olive oil and sea salt! The whole meal was gorgeous and I loved it!!
We were quite full after leaving the restaurant so we wandered through the city which at night was pretty especially Victoria Square with its fairy lights.
