Saturday 23rd
This morning we finally walked down the road and had breakfast (1pm) at The Premises. It looks delicious and very busy every time we walked past it so today was finally the day to try it for breakfast! We both had free range poached eggs on organic toast with sides of halloumi and spinach! It was amazing- I was absolutely stuffed after it but enjoyed it nearly as much as the brekie at St Kilda!
Speaking of St Kilda that is exactly where we decided to head to next! The sun was out again and we decided to go back to 7 apples for some more ice cream- it was our last trip there after all! We also wanted to check out the farmers market which is held there on saturdays but when we arrived it wasn't there so we must have missed it. I had a kinder milkshake from 7 apples (made with soy) and Thomas had croccangelo and black sesame ice cream! We sat on the grass in the park next to the Luna Park with everyone else and then we headed off for a wander along Fitzroy Road before catching the tram to the city.
From the city we caught the train out to Northcote to track down The Hungry Workshop a letterpress company that does work on commission. Its a small company think it may be just one or two guys but some of their stuff looks really good so I was keen to have a look. When we got there the workshop is just that a glass plated workshop with two Heidelbergs and a Vandercook at the front. There were piles of boxes and paper it was interesting to have a good peer through the glass, luckily nobody was there so we got a good look at the space, you can visit but its by appointment only.
Afterwards we popped in a cool sci-fi shop, kinda like Forbidden Planet but with better swag!! There was anything and everything and the guy was happy to let you wander round while he watched Seinfeld on the monitor!! I found a Xena Warrior Princess model that I was super happy about!! Was a great shop, loved the Jabba model!!
We then headed to Fitzroy where we went for a wander just looking around and when it got dark we went to Belle's Dinner so Thomas could try their chicken and chips. The chips were tasty and it was a nice atmosphere in there!
We were tired and it had turned dark and cold so we decided to have an early night and catch up on The Honourable Woman in bed in our PJ's!!
