Adelaide CBD and Botanical Gardens

Tuesday 12th

Today we had a wander back into Adelaide and wandered along the high street (Rundle Road) through the arcades and mooching around.  The arcades were a little disappointing- I hoped they would be more like Ebenezer Place but they were more commercial and I didn't find anything very interesting except a shop called Prescence that was in the guide book but had evidently moved to the arcade from Hyde Park, they had some nice cook books and gifts including a knight on a white horse childrens hanging toy that was nice!
We went to Ebenezer Place for lunch at Burger Theory which I had been looking forward to! I had a bean burger with fries and a vanilla milkshake, Thomas had a classic burger with fries and a chocolate milkshake! It was really nice and we liked the decor and the wrapping that the burgers came in- the milkshake was delicious!!
After lunch we went down Ebenezar Place into the shops we had found at the weekend. Council of Objects was a lovely store that had handmade pottery and gifts. I found some cards and wrapping by Bespoke Press and bought some double sided gift wrap with a watercolour design that is beautiful! I was delighted to come across their cards!!
We walked past SAD cafe that is next to DAS hairdressers (DAS is SAD backwards) they are the same establishment, they were in the guide book as a good cafe and after looking at the menu you could see why! I resolved to try their veggie burger at all costs later on in the week!!
We had a wander along to the bOtanical Gardens and spent a good while there wandering around and making the most of the last few patches of sunlight! It was beautiful there and Im sure in summer it would be a great place to go. The water lilly conservatory was a good place to visit! The gardens closed at 6 so we had another wander into town and went to the supermarket for soup, dates and oranges before heading home.
