Monday 18th
Today we got a train to Victoria Park and went for wander round the Abbotsford Monastery. It was a nice building but the day was overcast and cold, it would be a better excursion in the summer. The Monastery has been done out to hold exhibitions and has a few cafes to eat. The grounds are nice and its near the Collingwood Children's Farm. We got some pastries at The Covent Bakery, I had an escargot (best one in Aus so far) Thomas had a custard tart and then we wandered over to Fitzroy and Collingwood.
We passed lots of cool graffiti and random shops and boutiques including loads of cool vintage sgops, Vintage Garage was amazing!! We walked along Johnston Street before heading down Smith Street and Gertrude Street. We came across a good organic supermarket on Gertrude Street that had loads of nice stuff including a chocolate brownie that was delicious!!
We went up Brunswick Street and had a look in some boutiques. Its a cool street with loads of nice cafes and places to grab a drink. Emma recommended Little Creatures, we went in cos the inside is amazing and had a drink, i wanted some food but I wasn't hungry so we will have to go back!!
We carried on to the top of Brunswick then cut over and headed to Elgrin Steet to take us over to Little Italy. We got two tickets for Snowpiercer at Cinema Nova and then went and had some dinner at a restaurant across the road.
The film was surprising, not what I expected but I really enjoyed it!
We had a wander back tot he tram and headed back completely shattered!!
It was a strange day, overcast and on and off rain but it was good to explore!
